Thanks to the generous support of History Queensland Inc., the Conference Organising Committee is delighted to offer support to 2 regional delegates to assist them in attending the conference.
Support will be $500 towards airfares or travel costs. In addition, arrangements can be made for billeting with a member of Caloundra Family History Research Inc. if required. Other accommodation options are on the website.
Friday 24 May: Free public family and local history Fair with free talks in the morning and educational classes/workshops in the afternoon (small charge);
Welcome Function for conference delegates 6 pm – 8 pm (incl. in registration)
Saturday 25 May: Conference begins with official opening and keynote speaker followed by 14 speakers in the two concurrent streams, one family history and one local history. The program will cover a broad range of topics and interests, including some for beginners, as well as more experienced researchers.
Conference Dinner – 2 course, cost $40
Sunday 26 May: Conference continues to midday with a keynote speaker and 6 speakers in the two streams. The conferences ends at midday and will be followed by the History Queensland Annual General Meeting.
Venue: VENUE 114 (formerly known as Lake Kawana Community Centre) located at Bokarina on the Sunshine Coast
To apply for regional support
- You must be a resident of Queensland.
- You must belong to an organisation that is a member of History Queensland (HQ).
- Your application must be endorsed by that organisation.
- You must be a resident of a local council area outside south-east Queensland. That is, outside all the following local council areas:
City of Brisbane
Gold Coast City
City of Ipswich
Lockyer Valley Region
Moreton Bay Region
Scenic Rim Region
Sunshine Coast Region
- You must do a presentation to your society after the conference and write a short piece to go in HQ News about the conference.

Alternatively post to Waves in Time 2019 Conference, P0 Box 968, Caloundra QLD 4551 to reach the committee before the closing date – 14 September 2018.
The Committee will consider all applications and make a decision on 15 October 2018.
Successful applicants will be advised by 18 October 2018.
The Committee’s decision regarding the successful applicants will be final.
